The Mountain Interstate Forum on Languages and Cultures (formerly Foreign Language Conference) invites you to attend its 75th annual meeting in the Rocket City, at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, as we launch into the future with a new name, new interdisciplinary connections, and a special emphasis on pedagogical innovations.
MIFLC welcomes abstract submissions in French, German, Russian, Spanish, and English on all topics related to world languages and cultures, cross-cultural and cross-linguistic encounters, and language pedagogy. We are especially interested in papers dealing with these fields and issues in the profession:

Special Emphasis: Innovative Approaches to World Language Pedagogy and Cultural Engagement
Propose a presentation on innovative ideas for post-secondary or K-12 teaching to our pedagogy strand hosted in cooperation with the UAH College of Education. Plan pedagogical presentations primarily in English so teachers of other languages can also learn and be inspired!

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Individual Abstracts: 250 words with keywords.
Panel Proposals (3-4 papers): 150-word panel description with keywords, and abstracts for each paper.
Submission Deadline May 2, 2025.

Papers should be no more than 20 minutes in length and will not be read in absentia.
- MIFLC presenters are eligible to submit to the peer-reviewed MIFLC Review
- Graduate student travel scholarships available (application information TBA)
